Project Overview
In Teignmouth, a forward-thinking homeowner made a big change at the end of January. They decided to work with us, Solar Panel Devon, to use solar power for their home. By installing a solar system of 6/7kW, they were able to stop buying electricity and live off-grid during the day, starting from the 2nd of February.
What We Did
The homeowner found us online while searching for solar and battery storage solutions. They were interested in making their home more eco-friendly and energy-efficient. Here’s what we installed for them:
- Myenergy Zappi EV Charge Point: A smart way to charge an electric car using solar power.
- SunSync Inverter: This device turns the sunlight captured by solar panels into electricity the home can use.
- Jinko Solar Panels: These panels catch the sun's rays and are known for being really effective.
- DePower Battery: Stores extra solar power, so the homeowner can use it even when the sun’s not out.
Adding More
After we set up the solar power system, the homeowner wanted to make their home even safer and more efficient. So, we also:
- Installed smoke detectors to keep the home safe.
- Did some rewiring for the garage to make sure it could support the new solar energy system.
The Results
The system worked so well that the homeowner didn’t need to buy any electricity from the grid during the daytime. They could see how well it was working through a performance graph we provided.
This project in Teignmouth is a perfect example of how a little change can make a big difference. It shows that using solar energy can help you become more independent from the grid and do good for the planet.
Moving Forward
This project was a great success for both the homeowner and us at Solar Panel Devon. It’s exciting to see more people choosing renewable energy. We’re here to help anyone who wants to make their home greener and more energy-efficient.
