Kitson Boyce Solicitors in Torquay approached us looking to install an electric vehicle charging solution for their workplace, supporting staff who drive electric vehicles and helping the business prepare for the growing shift towards EV transport.
Like many organisations, they wanted a reliable and future-ready charging point that would allow employees to conveniently charge their vehicles during the working day. The solution also needed to be suitable for a commercial setting and able to support faster charging where required.
Following an initial site assessment, we recommended the installation of a Rolec Quantum pedestal charger, a robust and reliable commercial EV charger designed specifically for workplace environments.
The unit installed provides 22kW charging capability, allowing significantly faster charging compared to standard domestic chargers, making it ideal for staff vehicles that need to top up during the working day.
The charger was installed on a pedestal within the workplace parking area, providing easy access for staff while maintaining a neat and professional installation.
Workplace Charging Scheme Support
To help reduce installation costs, the project also benefited from the Workplace Charging Scheme, a government grant designed to encourage businesses to install EV charging infrastructure.
Through this scheme, businesses can receive:
- Up to 75% of the installation cost covered
- A maximum of £350 per socket
- Funding for up to 40 sockets across all sites
As OZEV-approved installers, we supported Kitsons through the process, ensuring the installation met the grant requirements and helping them access the available funding.
